efficiency advocates propound, but to design them to get bigger
and better in a way that replenishes, restores, and nourishes the
rest of the world.”

Outline

In this project we will examine the relationship between human and non-human actors,
between what is material and what is not (ideas, information, finance, emotions etc.) in the
city. We will examine relationships between social class, cultural capital, life style and
space. We will also ask how individuals act together, communicate and negotiate. Finally,
we will try to trace interactions between humans and non-human beings and artefacts
(products, shops, venders, producers, corporations etc.).

Your discussion about these concerns will be articulated through making your favourite
dish (Project 1A) and evaluating the whole process – from buying ingredients (where?
from whom?), to the way of serving (social, cultural, religious conventions).

Your work should answer following questions:
– What does the chosen dish reveal about you?
– How is the dish connected to your social class, cultural capital, religion, economical
position and life style?
– Could you map the dish spatially, socially, economically? What does this map reveal
about you?
