We are invited by University of Silesia to visit Katowice. Katowice is a city in Upper Silesia in Southern Poland. We having our architectural workshops there to discuss and investigate the problems of the city in helping the citizens and students, which hope to bring back city life!
Meeting with supervisors and participants of the workshop. We were guided by the student helpers from University of Silesia to walk around and inspect of the site. In the afternoon, we had the trip to Nikiszowiec which was once the coal mine settlement,with Professor Irna Kozina.
Meeting with the City’s Architect. He presented the design planning of Katowice, particularly the result from the spring workshop that dealth with Pawla, Wodna, and Gornicza Streets.
Meeting with Marek Skwara(architect) and his team to tell us more about the winning project from spring workshop. In the evening, we had a meeting with the citizens of Katowice. It was a great opportunity to talk with the local people, and also to the Vice Mayor of Katowice, Dr. Martin Krupa.

An all-day-long workshop in the afternoon where we invited students from University of Silesia and citizens of Katowice to participate. We want to know more about the city from different actors and perspectives. The workshop was successful as there were quite alot of participants. Thank you for the efforts from all groups to make up this workshop, from creating name cards and posters to invite people, to those who make up the fun stations to allow participant to engage with the activities.
Last day in Katowice！ Thank again to Unviersity of Silesia for arranging tours to visit CINiba building and NOSPR, the orchestra hall. We also have the chance to enjoy nice modern music concert in NOSPR.
The end of the trip! We would like to thank Unviersity of Silesia on inviting us to Katowice. We do appreciate the warm hospitality throughout our visit in Katowice.
